Caixa posts recurring net profit of R$3.7 billion in Q2

Caixa Econômica Federal reported on Wednesday that it recorded a recurring net profit of R$3.7 billion in the second quarter, a result 12% higher than that recorded in the same period last year, according to an earnings report.
For the first half of the year, recurring net income reached R$8.9 billion, an increase of 44.9% compared to the first six months of 2024.
Caixa also recorded a recurring return on equity (ROE) of 11.86% from April to June, an increase of 2.32 percentage points compared to the same period of the previous year.
The bank's financial margin expanded 5.7% year-on-year in the quarter, to R$16.4 billion, influenced by the increase in revenues from financial intermediation, which rose 29.9% according to the institution.
The credit portfolio ended June 2025 with a balance of R$1.294 trillion, a growth of 10.1% compared to June 2024, with a highlight being the 11.7% increase in real estate credit.
The default rate closed the quarter at 2.66%, 0.46 points higher than that seen in the same period last year.
