Tim's Lisbon concert date changed

One of the concerts by musician Tim, the voice of Xutos & Pontapés, scheduled for this month at the Teatro São Luiz, in Lisbon, was brought forward from the 20th to the 19th, for scheduling reasons, it was announced today.

According to the musician's management, in a statement released today, tickets for September 20 are valid for the new date (September 19), “without the need for exchange”.

Anyone who wants a refund for their tickets can request one until Sunday (September 14) at the place of purchase, says AMG Music.

Tim will celebrate 50 years on stage with two concerts at the São Luiz Theater.

"It will be a gathering of the many projects I'm or have been involved in, with guests I've worked with in one way or another. Even so, I know we won't have time for everyone... But we'll definitely have Teresa Salgueiro, Pedro Jóia, Jorge Palma, Rui Veloso, Resistência, Tais Quais, and, of course, Xutos & Pontapés!" says the musician, quoted in a statement released by his management in July.

The first show, on September 19th at 8pm, will be with Teresa Salgueiro, Pedro Jóia and Xutos & Pontapés, and the second, on the 21st at 5:30pm, with Resistência and Tais Quais, other bands of which he is a part, Gabriel Gomes and Serafim.

Tim began participating in concerts in August 1975.

Four years later, on January 13, 1979, he took to the stage for the first time with Xutos & Pontapés, at the Alunos de Apolo dance hall in Lisbon, on a night in which the band played four songs in just over five minutes.

At the time, the group, which was called Delirium Tremens and later Beijinhos e Parabéns, included young people Zé Pedro, Kalú, Tim and Zé Leonel, influenced by the punk-rock that was gaining momentum on the foreign music scene.

Throughout the early 1980s, at different times, Zé Leonel left the group, and João Cabeleira and Gui joined.

Forty-six years after their first concert, the group remains a fixture in Portuguese music with more than a dozen albums and many songs that serve as an anchor for a rock clan with thousands of fans from various generations.

Even after the death of guitarist Zé Pedro, in 2017, the band remained active, on stage and in the studio, with Tim (vocalist and bassist), João Cabeleira (guitarist), Gui (saxophonist) and Kalú (drummer).

In the 1990s, Tim was part of Resistência and Rio Grande, and released his first solo album, “Olhos meus”.

This was followed by “One and the Other” in 2006, “Silver Arm” in 2008, and “Adventure Companions” in 2010.

Tim is also part of the Cabeças no Ar, Tais Quais and SVT projects, in addition to collaborating with several artists.

In June of last year, the book “Milhares de palavras” was published, which mainly brings together lyrics that Tim wrote for Xutos & Pontapés, but also includes words that he sang in his own name, and four songs written for others: Tais Quais, Teresa Salgueiro, Quinta do Bill and Carlos Moisés.
