Stress. CGD with the best performance in the eurozone

Caixa Geral de Depósitos (CGD) said today that it achieved the best performance in the eurozone in the European Banking Authority (EBA) stress test, similar to what had happened in 2023.
"Caixa Geral de Depósitos achieved the best performance in the eurozone — lowest capital depletion — in the 2025 stress test, conducted by the EBA, in conjunction with the European Central Bank (ECB) and the European Systemic Risk Board (ESRB)," the public bank announced in a statement.
In 2023, when the last test was carried out, the public bank had already reached this position.
Faced with an adverse scenario, which considers geopolitical instability, economic slowdown, high inflation and high interest rates, Caixa's CET 1 capital ratio increases to 20.02% at the end of 2027, compared to 20% recorded in 2024.
In this scenario, CGD maintains the capacity to distribute more than €1 billion in dividends, in addition to the €3.35 billion paid since the 2017 recapitalization.
The CET1 ratio is a fundamental measure of a bank's financial strength, and the higher it is, the more guarantees of solvency the bank has.
Hours after the crime, the police will find the killer of Issam Sartawi, the Palestinian leader killed in the lobby of an Albufeira hotel. But they will also discover that he is not who he claims to be. "1983: Portugal à Queima-Poupa" is the story of the year two international terrorist groups attacked Portugal. A paramilitary commando stormed an embassy in Lisbon, and this summary execution in the Algarve shook the Middle East. It is narrated by actress Victoria Guerra, with an original soundtrack by Linda Martini.
