Castro Verde. GNR arrests three suspects of illicit security

Three men were arrested on Saturday for committing the crime of illegal private security activity during a GNR inspection operation at a nightclub in Castro Verde, Beja district, the security force announced.
Contacted by Lusa news agency, a source from the GNR's Beja Territorial Command indicated this Tuesday that the arrests were made in the early hours of Saturday, "around 1 am", as part of a routine inspection of a nightlife establishment located in Castro Verde.
During the operation, which involved soldiers from the Almodôvar Territorial and Beja Intervention detachments, the GNR ended up detaining three men, aged 20, 28 and 45, for committing the crime of “illicit private security activity”, revealed the same source.

The Guard also seized a Glock 19 pistol and a 6.35mm pistol from the detainees, as well as four magazines, 51 rounds of ammunition, a holster and a ballistic protection vest.
According to the newspaper Correio da Manhã , one of those arrested is a Navy marine, but, when questioned this Tuesday by Lusa, the GNR did not confirm this situation.
“We know that he had a [license to] use and carry a firearm for one of the weapons, but his professional status will be investigated during the investigation,” he simply stated.
The three suspects were brought before the Beja Court on Monday and were released on condition of identity and residence.
The case moved to the investigation phase, under the responsibility of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Beja.
