"We all have a duty to do something. This aid from Chega won't solve the problem, but it's the best example we can set, and I urge political parties, associations, and leaders to do something," André Ventura told reporters after unloading containers of water, juice, and some food.

On Wednesday, Ventura had already shown images of moments when he was raising funds to distribute to firefighters who are on the ground fighting the flames that are raging in the north and center of the country: in the video , the Chega leader can be seen raising "pallets of water and cereal bars", together with other party deputies.
"We've been gathering drinks and food to deliver to the firefighters. Of course they need much more, of course this is a drop in the ocean, but if everyone does their part, we're stronger," wrote André Ventura, the day before traveling to Fundão.
