Accordion Without Borders: Chamamé in the Rhythm of the South" debuts this Wednesday (09) in Porto Alegre

This Wednesday, July 9th, at 8pm, CTG Glaucus Saraiva, in Porto Alegre (RS), will host the debut of the project "Acordeon Sem Fronteiras: Chamamé no Ritmo do Sul". With free admission and open to the public, the event marks the beginning of a series of presentations that exalt chamamé — a traditional rhythm from the border regions between Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay.

Conceived by Desidério Souza, the project includes six musical performances in different cities in Rio Grande do Sul, promoting cultural exchanges and highlighting the accordion as a symbol of southern identity and border culture.

More than just concerts, the proposal involves immersive experiences, with renowned musicians sharing their knowledge and stories. The audience will have the opportunity to experience a musical expression full of memories, affections and traditions.

"More than a musical show, the project is a bridge between cultures. Chamamé carries memories, affections and stories that span generations. And that is what we want to share with the public in each city", says the creator.

The initiative was approved by the Aldir Blanc National Policy for the Promotion of Culture (PNAB), with funding from Pró-Cultura RS and the State Government, and carried out by the Ministry of Culture and the Federal Government. After its debut in the capital, the project will move on to Guaíba, Canoas, Passo Fundo, Santo Augusto and Tupanciretã.
