Vale de Cambra. Arrested for setting fire to a wasp nest

A 72-year-old man was arrested by the GNR for starting a forest fire while burning a wasp nest in Vale de Cambra, Aveiro.

In a note released this Thursday, the GNR states that the suspect was arrested on Wednesday for the crime of forest fire in the municipality of Vale de Cambra.

“Following an alert for a forest fire, the Guard's military personnel immediately went to the scene, where they found that the Vale de Cambra Volunteer Firefighters were extinguishing the flames,” the statement said.

The suspect was intercepted while burning a wasp nest located nearby and was immediately detained.
