The Municipal Indoor Pool will be open to the public in August.

The decision to extend the pool's opening hours will allow Vila Real residents and visitors to enjoy free swimming between July 28th and August 29th, Monday through Friday, from 2:00 pm to 7:30 pm. During this period, access to the pool will also be offered at reduced prices: €1 for users aged 7 to 13, €1.50 for those aged 14 and over, and free for children up to 6 years old.
Therefore, the new temporary closure date for pool maintenance is scheduled from September 1st to 12th, with the pool only reopening on September 15th.
Registration for the usual aquatic activities begins on September 8th for Water Aerobics and Youth/Adult Swimming. The remaining activities – Aquamobility, Swimming for Children (4 to 13 years old), Parents + Babies (up to 3 years old), Group Classes, and Free Swimming – will be available for registration starting on September 15th, along with the start of the new sports season.
In a statement, Vila Real City Council highlighted that the “decision was designed to provide an increase in the number of leisure and well-being activities in the municipality during the summer period”.
At a time when information is more important than ever, support regional and local journalism. Access to most VTM news is (still) free, but it's not free; journalism costs money and requires investment. This contribution is a way to directly support A Voz de Trás-os-Montes and its journalists. Our contribution is independent and local journalism, but not only that. It means continuing to report despite all the constraints of lockdown, without having to stop for a single day.
