The Chamber of Deputies approves the main text of the bill with measures for the government to balance the budget in 2026.

The government's provisional measure that foresaw a tax increase expired in October because parliamentarians refused to vote on it. The government negotiated with the National Congress to include some of the points of the provisional measure in a bill that was already under consideration. The text of the rapporteur, Deputy Juscelino Filho, from União Brasil, initially dealt with the regularization of undeclared assets.
