Serra da Estrela Lamb Festival in Carrapichana

The Serra da Estrela DOP Lamb Festival returns on the 25th and 26th of October, to the parish of Carrapichana, to enthrone the excellence of Serra da Estrela DOP Lamb.

Co-organized by the municipality of Celorico da Beira and Estrelacoop, with the collaboration of the Parish Council of Carrapichana and Ancose, among other entities, the event is a major celebration promoting the municipality's rurality, culture and traditions and, above all, disseminating the gastronomic richness of this territory, centered on lamb and the different ways of preparing it.

The program combines the festival's main product (lamb) with tradition, culture, crafts, and popular entertainment. Highlights of the program include concerts by Sebastião Antunes and Quadrilha (on the 25th), and Feiticeiros de Horos and Jorge Guerreiro (on the 26th).

The program also includes moments of traditional Portuguese music (concertinas), the Crafts and Traditional Regional Products Fair, traditional games, and the “Lamb Route Walk”.

The lamb is served in the Restaurant Area and at “Taste On Fire”, prepared with the art, creativity and mastery of Chefs Rui Cerveira, Paulo Cardoso, António Santos and MasterChef Sandra.

The Festival also includes the Gastronomic Week, which runs from October 26th to November 2nd, in participating restaurants throughout the Serra da Estrela Demarcated Cheese and Lamb Production Region .
