Panel: Michelle could benefit from Eduardo-Tarcísio clash, say Bolsonaro allies

The fight between licensed federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro ( PL -SP) and the governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), because of the tariff hike announced by Donald Trump, could benefit former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro (PL) as a possible candidate for president in 2026.

The assessment was made to the Panel by two people close to the Bolsonaro core. Their reasoning is that the clash between Tarcísio and Eduardo will leave consequences for both their presidential aspirations.
The congressman and the governor would be canceling each other out as alternatives on the right, while Michelle remains out of the running.
Initially, the former first lady will be a candidate for the Senate for the Federal District, but she has been mentioned as a possible name to represent her husband in the polls in 2026.
The arrest of Jair Bolsonaro due to the alleged coup plot, now seen as likely, could strengthen Michelle's position as his heir within the right.
Bolsonaro's allies are also concerned about the escalating rhetoric, especially Eduardo's attacks on Tarcísio. There is a fear that the situation will spiral out of control, politically benefiting the left and the Lula administration.
The federal deputy accused Tarcísio of being disrespectful towards him when trying to negotiate with the American government to reverse the tariffs threatened by Trump.
