Pampilhosa da Serra and its pristine nature are attractive summer destinations

Are the Municipal Festivals / XXVI Crafts and Gastronomy Fair always the highlight of summer in Pampilhosa da Serra?

Yes, in fact, the Municipal Festivals are, let's say, the icing on the cake in a summer season that is very full of events in the interior, and especially in Pampilhosa da Serra, and which peaks with the municipal festivals. I'd say that Pampilhosa da Serra is almost certainly the municipality in the Coimbra region with the greatest population fluctuation during the summer. In other words, during this summer period, we have about five times the population than we normally do during the year.

Are they people from the municipality who return to spend the summer?

Yes, this happens because many of these people, who are natives of Pampilhosa da Serra, and their descendants, children, and grandchildren, have never stopped coming to their hometown. They end up keeping their vacation homes here and spend long periods of the summer here every year. And in fact, from June, July, and especially August, we have about five times the population, thanks to these people who seek us out.

But are there also tourists who seek out the municipality for nature tourism?

Yes, we also have an increasing number of tourists seeking nature destinations. Pampilhosa da Serra has a lot to offer, so I'd say we have a packed summer calendar.

Is there a whole entertainment program alongside the Municipal Festivals?

The Municipal Festivals, in fact, somewhat address this reality, the needs of our visitors. That's why during the month of August we also hold the Summer Nights, the week before and the week after the Municipal Festivals. During the Summer Nights, we have daily shows, stand-up comedy, and outdoor cinema, precisely to provide entertainment and a more engaging calendar for people during these summer weeks, before and after the festivals themselves.
