The Associação Desportiva de Lagares da Beira hereby expresses its deep indignation at the succession of refereeing errors that have seriously harmed the team throughout the current season. Given the repeated lack of fairness and criteria in refereeing decisions, the club is seriously considering boycotting the remaining rounds of the championship, if sporting truth continues to be disrespected.
The Board of Directors of the Associação Desportiva de Lagares da Beira has recorded a series of incomprehensible decisions that have systematically penalised Lagares da Beira, including countless penalties easily invented against the team, inexplicable expulsions of players, coaches and delegates, as well as dubious decisions that, by coincidence or not, always tend to harm the last placed team in the championship.
The matches have been filmed, and the images clearly demonstrate the lack of criteria and fairness in several decisions. However, the Coimbra Football Association and its Refereeing Council continue to ignore this reality.
The Management of the Associação Desportiva de Lagares da Beira, through the legal channels of the bodies that manage district football in Coimbra, actively and recurrently exposes the cases where we feel that there is a deliberate intention to harm the Associação Desportiva de Lagares da Beira, to date we have only registered empty responses or constant complaints from the leaders of Coimbra.
The mistakes are obvious, behind the scenes, even the refereeing team's own observers admit the mistakes made, but in practice, nothing changes. The same referees are appointed over and over again, perpetuating a cycle of injustice that compromises the integrity of the competition.
In addition to the controversial decisions, the Associação Desportiva de Lagares da Beira repudiates the conduct of the referees on the field, where the aggressive and impolite way in which the referees address our players is constant, some even with a tone of contempt, as if they were pleased with the club's current situation.
Faced with this unsustainable scenario, the Associação Desportiva de Lagares da Beira is considering taking a drastic stance. Patience has its limits, and our club is not willing to accept a system that seems to be designed to harm us.
The Lagares da Beira Sports Association demands respect and justice on the pitch, where football should be played with dignity and transparency, and not behind the scenes, with obscure and arbitrary criteria. Sporting truth must be respected. The Coimbra Football Association cannot continue to ignore this situation.
If nothing changes, we may be forced to take measures that we never wanted, but that the lack of justice may make inevitable. The Associação Desportiva de Lagares da Beira calls for reflection from all those involved in regional football and reinforces its commitment to ethics and sporting equity.
