Is AI making us stupider and lazier?

I grew up hearing "Where the monkey puts his nuts," a phrase my father said humorously, as an alternative to sending someone there. But in 2025, Googling "Where the monkey puts his nuts?" will result in the search engine giving a very serious answer, with the help of Artificial Intelligence. "Monkeys don't usually store nuts in their mouths like squirrels," the AI begins, explaining: "They can eat nuts, but they don't usually store them for later, as some other animals do."
As if this explanation weren't enough, the AI continues, in the same encyclopedic tone and in the same broken Portuguese: "Most monkeys are omnivorous, eating fruits, seeds, insects, and other small animals. Some monkey species, such as capuchins, are known to use tools to crack nuts and other hard seeds, but they consume their food immediately. As for where monkeys store food, they can store it in their cheeks, but this is generally for immediate use, not long-term storage."
