The CMVM has made available four quick guides on financial instruments: Shares , Bonds , Securities Investment Funds (UCITS) and PRIIP – Notes or Structured Bonds.
PRIIPs (Packaged Retail and Insurance-based Investment Products) are investment products whose redemption is subject to market fluctuations. They include products such as investment funds, investment-linked life insurance, deposits and structured products, as well as structured notes or bonds.
“The main objective of these guides is to provide useful information to investors, in a simple way, so that they can better understand this type of financial instrument”, says the institution led by Luís Laginha de Sousa.
The guides explain in a clear and accessible way what these instruments are, what their main advantages, risks and costs are, and what information should be analyzed before investing.
“This initiative is part of the CMVM’s role in promoting financial literacy, encouraging all investors to make informed investment decisions”, adds the Commission.
