Former PSD MP João Carlos Barreiras Duarte passed away this Friday, August 15, at the age of 60. A native of Bombarral, where he was born on October 22, 1964, he served as a member of parliament for three legislative terms, served as a national advisor to the PSD, served as vice-president and member of the Leiria/PSD District Council, and as president of the JSD-Leiria District Council. The municipality of Bombarral, through its Mayor, Ricardo Fernandes, has already expressed on social media its "deepest condolences for the passing of João Carlos Barreiras Duarte, who had strong ties to local politics," noting that he served, among other roles, as a councilor and president of the Bombarral Municipal Assembly.
