Board game promotes financial literacy in Portugal.

' Finance for the Future ' is the latest project from the Nova SBE Finance Knowledge Center. It is a board game , developed in partnership with Science4You, for all ages (from 9 to 99 years old), which aims to increase financial literacy levels in Portugal in a playful and fun way.
The game, which can be used as a teaching tool in schools and at home, brings different generations closer to essential financial management concepts, making learning about saving and personal finance more accessible, fun, and impactful. Learning to spend wisely , make smart investments to grow money , take out loans responsibly , and distinguish between wants and needs are just some of the challenges players face.
“With the launch of this game, we reinforce our ambition to bring financial literacy closer to different generations, making often complex concepts simple, engaging and accessible. We believe that only with more informed and responsible citizens will it be possible to build a more sustainable future for Portugal,” says Miguel Ferreira, Academic Director of Finanças para Todos, a financial literacy project of the Nova SBE Finance Knowledge Center.
Filipe Ramos , CEO of Science4You, adds: “This partnership reflects our commitment to making learning a fun and transformative experience. This game aims to inspire children and families, promoting quality time together while exploring fundamental topics such as financial literacy in a playful and practical way.”
This publication reinforces Nova SBE 's commitment to promoting financial literacy and economic citizenship, raising awareness among audiences of all ages about the importance of making informed and responsible financial choices.
In addition to the game now being presented, Nova SBE also runs the free program "Finance for All ," which empowers Portuguese families to manage their monthly budget sustainably and to make more informed economic decisions.
Since its creation, the program has already trained more than 6,000 people, with another 2,500 expected in the edition that started this month (October), which demonstrates not only the relevance of the initiative, but also the need for innovative strategies that make learning more practical and engaging, promoting the creation of healthy economic habits – especially in a context where Portugal continues to have one of the worst financial literacy rates in Europe.
The game “Finance for the Future” is available in the Science4you online store and other retailers.
