Designing a new apartment is a challenge even for experienced designers. Especially when it comes to a vacation rental, where simplicity must be combined with functionality, coziness, and a touch of flair. This is precisely how this unique interior in Gdańsk was created – an apartment that combines hotel chic, artistic flair, and the warmth of a family home.
Aneta Bieńkowska of Indesign studio is behind the design of this 100-square-meter apartment for a family of four . The owners, both travel enthusiasts, wanted the apartment to resemble a boutique hotel, yet have a soul.
The biggest challenge was redesigning the layout of the rooms – especially the living area and the master bedroom. Glass doors and electric curtains separate the bedroom from the bathroom, while also opening up panoramic views of Gdańsk and creating a space conducive to contemplating the artwork by Nikodem Szpunar, which hangs on the wall behind the veneer bathtub.
Let's also take a look at the bedroom, where the dominant material is beech burl.
- It's a material that's quite difficult to work with, but I really wanted to use it – it reminds me of coral and the texture of driftwood – says the designer.

"The tall, lacquered cabinetry conceals the refrigerator, while the island houses the oven. The beige Taj Mahal quartz induction cooktop practically blends in with the countertop. There's also a wine fridge and shelves for beautiful ceramics," adds Bieńkowska.

The walls are decorated with works by Dorota Buczkowska, Weronika Braun, Dorota Pawlikowska, and Monika Janus, creating the atmosphere of a small, private art gallery.

Working with young people is an adventure. It's difficult to extract from them what they truly enjoy, but when you do, you create spaces that fully reflect their personality.
This part of the apartment also features a second bathroom – less elegant, but practical and easy to clean. The windows overlook the Orłowo Cliff – the owner's only wish, and one that couldn't be missed.
The dressing room and laundry room, cleverly hidden in the passageway, have not been forgotten either.

Change and diversity drive me. Each project is a new story, a new personality, and new emotions.
The apartment in Gdańsk-Przymorze is one of the designer's latest works – and further proof that design can be beautiful, personal and functional at the same time.
