A modern attraction on the Baltic Sea. Here you can stroll with a sea view.

July wasn't kind to Polish seaside businesses. Many domestic tourists were deterred by rain or changeable weather with brief spells of sunshine. The summer holidays are only halfway through, and there's still time to give seaside towns a chance. One recently boasted a revamped attraction – an extended footbridge. A stroll here will also be pleasant on a cloudy day.
The footbridge in Międzyzdroje has undergone a transformationA new section of the dune-topped footbridge, connecting beach access points "B" and "A," opened in early July. The route is connected to a pedestrian and bicycle path with a total length of nearly 6 km.
Since 2018, the first section of this walking route has been operational here, from the western part of the pier to the descent at the Playa Baltis apartment building.
"The footbridge offers an alternative way to spend your free time when the weather is unfavorable. The project strengthens Wolin Island and the Kamień County," noted Mateusz Bobek, Mayor of Międzyzdroje, after signing an agreement with Olgierd Geblewicz, Marshal of the Voivodeship, guaranteeing EU funding for this investment for the municipality.
The route is also suitable for cyclistsAccording to kamieńskie.info, the structure is built on stilts, allowing it to be elevated above the dunes without disturbing them. The 3-4-meter-wide footbridge allows for free movement for pedestrians, families with strollers, and cyclists. It also features energy-efficient lighting and benches for relaxation. Access to the beach and ramps adapted to the needs of people with disabilities have been added.
The project was possible thanks to co-financing from European Funds under the regional program "European Funds for Western Pomerania 2021–2027".
