Two Poles in the Champions League final! Crazy match at San Siro. Extra time decided

The beginning of the match was calm - both teams approached the competition cautiously, focusing on analyzing the opponent's positioning and securing the back. Nobody wanted to show their cards too early or make a costly mistake. Wojciech Szczęsny was in good shape from the first whistle - the only Pole on the pitch from the first minute. The goalkeeper of the "Pride of Catalonia" intervened several times confidently, coming out of the goal with great self-confidence and showing off an effective save after a dangerous shot by Nicolo Barella.
The breakthrough came in the 21st minute, when Frenkie De Jong made a serious mistake. The Dutchman lost the ball in his own half, which Inter players quickly exploited. The action quickly moved to Barcelona's penalty area, where Denzel Dumfries spotted the unattended Lautaro Martinez and put the ball into an empty net. The Argentine sniper did not waste this opportunity and opened the score with a confident shot. In this situation, the "Blaugrana" defense, which was very easy to dismantle, failed the most.

In the following minutes, the pace of the match increased significantly. Both teams began to exchange blows - creating goal opportunities time and again. Barcelona demanded a penalty after the ball hit the hand of Francesco Acerbi. Referee Szymon Marciniak used video review, but after a VAR analysis, decided that there was no foul and ordered the game to continue.
Just before the break, Martinez shone for the second time. The home forward made an impressive dribbling display during a fast counterattack by Inter, ran into the penalty area and was fouled by Pau Cubarsi. The young defender tried to stop the Argentine with a slide tackle, but miscalculated his movement and hit his opponent in the leg. Although Marciniak did not initially award a penalty, after a VAR review he had no doubts - he pointed to the spot. Hakan Calhanoglu stepped up to the ball and with a precise strike doubled the lead of the "Nerazzurri".
The visitors quickly recovered after the break - in the 54th minute Eric Garcia made an impressive volley after a pass from Gerard Martin and scored a goal. A moment later Lamine Yamal could have equalized, but Sommer saved his shot with a spectacular save. What the 17-year-old failed to do, Dani Olmo did, heading into the net after another great cross from Martin.
At the end of regular time, Barcelona took the initiative, and Inter limited themselves to ineffective counterattacks. In the 88th minute, Raphinha reached the ball deflected by Sommer after his own shot and finished it accurately, giving the "Pride of Catalonia" the lead. When it seemed that the fate of the match was decided, Inter responded - in added time, Acerbi finished the counterattack with a stinging shot under the crossbar and tied the score.
In extra time, the result was decided by one perfectly executed move by coach Inzaghi's players. Mehdi Taremi passed the ball accurately to Davide Frattesi, who scored with a precise shot to beat Szczęsny.
At the end of extra time, Sommer became the hero of the Nerazzurri, who saved his team with several great interventions. His save from Yamal's powerful shot in the final minutes of the match was particularly impressive.
Wojciech Szczęsny played the full 90 minutes for Blaugrana, while Robert Lewandowski appeared on the pitch in the added time of the second half. Piotr Zieliński came on for Inter in the 71st minute, while Nicola Zalewski sat on the bench for the entire match. In the grand finale of the Champions League, the Nerazzurri team will face the winner of the Paris Saint-Germain - Arsenal match (first match 1:0 for PSG, the return match on Wednesday in Paris).
