The volleyball champion returns to the game! What a transfer bomb in PlusLiga

This is great news for volleyball fans in Poland.
– I am glad that in the 2025/2026 season I will once again represent Trefl Gdańsk. For me and my family it is a return home, to stability and to my former form, at least I hope so. The main reason for my return to Trefl was the enormous help I received from the club, the opportunity to train during the 2024/2025 season, when I was recovering from an injury. It is also a natural continuation of my volleyball path, I wanted to continue playing and enjoying this sport, and Trefl gives me such a chance – said Nowakowski after signing a contract with the Gdańsk club.
It is worth adding that in the previous season, the colors of the club from Tricity were played by another, very experienced volleyball player - with a representative past - Jakub Jarosz. Mariusz Wlazły, chosen a few days ago as the best volleyball player in the 25 years of the Polish Volleyball League, also ended his career in Trefl.
Piotr Nowakowski will play again in PlusLiga! The great return of the championWe reported last summer that Nowakowski was training with Trefl Gdańsk. At that time, however, it was not known whether the experienced center intended to return to the pitch or whether he would officially end his career.
As it turned out, the volleyball player focused mainly on healing his shoulder problems, which meant that we would not see him on the pitch in the 2024/25 campaign. The only thing that was certain - but that was from April 2022 - was the fact that Nowakowski would end his role as a national representative.
Now we know that the two-time world champion (2014 and 2018), European champion (2009), among others, is returning to the game. The center played for Trefl in 2017-19. His last club was Projekt Warszawa.
