The Pogoń footballers will have a week of truth ahead of them. The most effective team of the PKO Ekstraklasa this spring has two important matches ahead of them. On Wednesday at 6:00 PM they will play at home against Piast Gliwice, three days later they will host Lech Poznań.
- We are focused on this first match. After the match with Piast we will think about Lech - emphasized Kolendowicz.

Pogoń's players, including Portowcy captain Kamil Grosicki, have been threatening for a long time that after last year's defeat in the Polish Cup final, they want to return to the National Stadium this year and win the trophy. To do so, they first have to advance to the semi-finals.
- The numbers don't lie, and they show that we and Piast are at the forefront in terms of not conceding goals. Our matches so far have been very tactical. Close. I think Wednesday's will be similar - admitted the coach from Szczecin.
He does not hide the fact that he is also considering a scenario with a penalty shootout deciding who will advance.
- In all the last friendly matches, during the breaks we played penalty shootouts with our rivals. We also practiced them during the last training sessions. We also have a penalty shootout hierarchy established - the Portowcy coach does not hide it.
He also has a plan to play in goal in the quarter-final match. In previous cup matches against Odra Opole and Zagłębie Lubin, the regular league goalkeeper Valentin Cojocaru was replaced by Krzysztof Kamiński. A day before the match, Kolendowicz did not want to reveal which of them would play in the quarter-final.
The Port players are also holding their final training sessions before the clash with Gliwice on the main pitch of the Florian Krygier Stadium in order to get a feel for the conditions that will prevail during the match.
Mariusz Malec is already training with the team after a months-long break due to injury, as are two of the three foreigners brought in last week. The third is training with the reserve team. However, it is hard to expect any of them to even make it to the match squad.
After four league victories, and especially the recent 4-0 triumph over Widzew in Łódź, there is great optimism in the team.
- I have seen faith and confidence in the players for a long time. It is no different now. We are prepared for this match. We are in a good moment and I would like our defensive actions to help us highlight the offensive - the Pogoń coach noted.
