The Polish volleyball team defeated Japan 3-0 (25-23, 26-24, 25-12) in the Nations League quarterfinals in Ningbo, China. In Saturday's semifinal, they will face Brazil, who defeated China with difficulty in the previous stage of the tournament.

"We had to outlast Japan's greatest strength, their strong offense, which they displayed especially in the first set. They really played very well, and the attacker in particular deserved special mention here. It was difficult to stop him and defend him because the attacks were so powerful. I think he also caused us the biggest problems on serve, but we persevered. We came back from a 12-16 deficit in the first set, and I think that was the key moment of the match," said setter Marcin Komenda in an interview with Polsat Sport.

The Polish national team will be competing for a medal at this competition for the sixth consecutive time. They have won a gold medal (2023), a silver medal (2021), and three bronze medals (2019, 2022, 2024).

"Now we have an opponent who plays better, who has a great coach in Bernardo Rezende. We have to play well, we have to be prepared. We are the same players as before, and we have to play like that," said White and Reds coach Nikola Grbić in an interview with Polsat Sport.
