Men's Volleyball Champions League: Results and highlights of play-off matches. Quarter-final pairs

Polish clubs will find out who their rivals will be in the quarter-finals of the Volleyball Champions League. Who advanced to the top eight? Check the results and watch highlights of the first play-off matches for the quarter-finals of the CEV Champions League.

SVG Lueneburg will be the rival of Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie, and Projekt Warszawa will meet Halkbank Ankara in the quarterfinals of the Champions League for men's volleyball. In both play-off pairs, which selected the rivals of the Polish teams, it was necessary to play the so-called golden set.

The internal competition in Germany was more even. Berlin Recycling Volleys won the rematch 3:2, making up for the loss from the first match with SVG Lueneburg, but in the additional game the guests won 15:13, although they were already leading 14:10. The match lasted almost three hours in total.

In turn, Allianz Milan defeated Halkbank Ankara 3:1 and also forced the match into overtime. The guests from Turkey proved to be better, winning the golden set 15:13.

On Thursday, Olympiakos Piraeus will host the French Saint-Nazaire VB Atlantique, which they defeated 3-1 in the first match. The winner of this two-legged match will face JSW Jastrzębski Węgiel in the quarterfinals.

Only the winners of the five groups advanced directly to the Champions League quarter-finals. In turn, the second-placed teams plus the third-placed team with the best record formed play-off pairs that would determine the next three quarter-finalists.

In addition to the three pairs of Polish teams, two Italian teams will compete for participation in the Final Four. Sir Sicoma Perugia, in which Kamil Semeniuk plays, will play against Vero Volley Monza.

The first quarter-final matches will be played on March 11-13. The return matches are scheduled for March 18-20.
