Here are Jagiellonia's chances for a seeding in the LK. Good news has arrived!
Third place in the Ekstraklasa table at the end of the 2024/25 season — thanks to a 1:1 draw with Pogoń Szczecin — was secured by Jagiellonia, last year's winner of the competition. Thanks to this, coach Adrian Siemienic's team will be able to test themselves again in the Conference League, of which they reached the quarterfinals this edition. The team from Białystok is now counting on appropriate results in other European competitions. And Thursday's matches went according to their plan.
Jagiellonia is currently set"Thanks to Hacken winning the Swedish Cup and Charleroi playing off in Belgium, Djurgarden and Royal Antwerp will be missing from the LK qualifiers. This moves Jagiellonia up two places, to the last seeded team in the fourth round. They will remain in this group as at the start of the season if Basel beats third-league FC Biel-Bienne in the Swiss Cup final or Besiktas advances to third place in the Turkish league. Further decisions will be made on licensing issues and the results of the first and second rounds of the LE and LK qualifiers," reports statistician Jan Sikorski on the website raportefa.pl.
"In Croatia, the cup was won by Rijeka, which qualified Dinamo Zagreb for the LE qualifiers. However, they will skip them and go straight to the league stage thanks to the highest coefficient of all participants. NK Varazdin will play in the second round of the LK qualifiers. Beitar, who lost the cup final to Hapoel Be'er Sheva and qualified from fourth place in the league, will also be there. In Montenegro, the winner of the cup is Dečić, which will allow them to start in the LK qualifiers from the first round," he adds.
"The first match of the play-off final for a place in the LK qualifiers took place in Austria. LASK won 3:1 against Rapid, but both clubs have a higher coefficient than Jagiellonia and from this point of view there is no difference who advances. The return match on Sunday, June 1," he concludes.
In turn, Piotr Klimek calculates on platform X that Jagiellonia's chances of being seeded in the fourth round are currently around 86 percent.
"Jagiellonia returns to the seeded side at the moment (and will not be eliminated from there if Basel beats third-tier Biel in the Swiss Cup final)" — he also notes.
Raków Częstochowa, who came second, will also play in the Conference League qualifiers. Polish Champion Lech Poznań will play in the Champions League qualifiers, while Legia Warsaw, who won the Polish Cup, will fight for a place in the Europa League.
