Great emotions in Kielce! The last seconds determined the result of the Industria match

Great emotions in Kielce! The last seconds determined the result of the Industria match

The match at the Hala Legionów was very important. The Kielce team is fighting for participation in the knockout phase of the Champions League, while their rivals are fighting for direct promotion to the quarter-finals of the competition. The hosts played without the injured Arkadiusz Moryta and Slovenian goalkeeper Klemen Ferlin. Alex Dujshebaev returned to the game after health problems.

The beginning of the match belonged to the guests. In the seventh minute, the team from Nantes was already leading 4:1 after a counterattack finished by Aymeric Minne Minne. The Kielce team made mistakes in attack, which the players of coach Gregory Cojean exploited ruthlessly. It could have been even worse, but Bekir Cordalija showed off several great interventions. The Bosnian goalkeeper of Industria also saved a penalty taken by Valero Rivera. The Spanish winger of the French team rehabilitated himself after fifteen minutes of play. After his goal, the rivals of the Polish team were already winning 8:4. This result was also due to Ignacio Bioska, the former goalkeeper of Orlen Wisła Płock, who won several one-on-one duels with the players of Industria.

In time, the Kielce team found their rhythm of play, partially making up for the losses. In the 20th minute, Jorge Maqueda scored, and after a while Theo Monar did the same, and Nantes were only leading 9:8. Cordalija defended like an inspired man, and the hosts tied the score just three minutes later (9:9 – Michał Olejniczak). Although the guests quickly scored two goals, the next part of the match was a concert for the team from the capital of the Świętokrzyskie region. After four goals in a row, Industria took the lead in the 29th minute 14:12 – a goal by Igor Karacic. This score remained until the break, and Cordalija had eight successful interventions in the first half.

The second half began with a goal by Michał Olejniczak, but the rivals were not going to give up. After a goal by Kauldi Odriozola, Industria's advantage decreased to one goal (17:16). The hosts' response was lightning fast. After two goals by Dylan Nahi, the Polish team was winning 19:16 in the 40th minute. Seeing what was happening on the court, Gregory Cojean asked for a timeout.

It didn't help much, because Nahi's show continued. The French winger scored his sixth and seventh goals in the match. The hosts jumped ahead by four goals (21:17). The French team's weakness was broken only by Thibaud Briet (21:18 - 46th min.). The guests followed up and three minutes later they were only losing 20:22 (Julien Bos). The Kielce fans watched the last part of the match standing up, warmly cheering on their favorites.

This did not discourage the French team, who caught up with their rival four minutes before the end (24:25 – Ayoub Abdi). 40 seconds before the final siren, Talant Dujshebaev, with Industria leading 28:27, called a timeout. However, Olejnicz’s throw was saved by Biosca, and the point was saved by Ayoub Abdi.

After this match, the Kielce team extended their chances of advancing to the knockout stage, and if their rivals beat Danish Aalborg at home next week, they will advance directly to the quarter-finals.
