For points in the heat of sparring? What's important is yet to come.

The hosts are the clear favorites to win. However, even if they take the three points—and they likely will—it won't change anything. They'll have to wait for Fogo Unia Leszno to decide on their opponent for the playoff semifinal. And who knows, maybe the Leszno team will choose Polonia.

Unia is on a roll. They dropped their only points in the second half of April, losing 42-48 to Cellfast Wolves in Krosno. Since then, the Leszno team hasn't lost, and you can count on one hand the number of games in which they haven't scored more than 50 points.

Also in the direct clash between Leszno and Bydgoszcz (the two teams that were considered the main candidates for promotion), Unia's riders are on top. The victory at Sportowa three weeks ago is particularly valuable. Who knows, perhaps the fueled Bulls will want to take down their direct opponent for promotion in the semifinals? That would close Polonia's path to promotion, even via the playoffs!

For now, Bydgoszcz isn't thinking about that and is preparing for the decisive part of the season. The meeting with Orzeł will likely be an opportunity for final tests of bike setup before the most important part of the season, where the Polonia riders and staff are likely on their minds.

As if to confirm this, after the last victory against Tex Stal, coach Tomasz Bajerski said directly in an interview with the official website of the Speedway Ekstraliga:

- We're not getting carried away. The most important part of the season is still ahead of us.

Considering that Szymon Woźniak and Wiktor Przyjemski have already been confirmed to play for the Bydgoszcz club in the 2026 season, a potential playoff defeat could resonate with Brda for a long time. Therefore, today's match will certainly not be a priority for Polonia.
