England beats Spain in Nations League

England beat Spain 1-0 in the second round of Division A of the Nations League, with Jessica Park scoring the winning goal.
The match at Wembley promised to be an exciting one. The favourites were the world champions Spain, but it was the hosts who took the lead. In the 33rd minute, Manchester City player Jessica Park scored.
Spain had the upper hand after the break with more shots, but Chelsea goalkeeper Hannah Hampton was unbeatable on the day as England recorded their first win over Spain since 2019.
It was the first victory for Sarina Wiegman's team in this edition of the Nations League A Division. In the previous match, England drew 1-1 with Portugal.
Spain, in turn, won the first series of games against Belgium 3-2.
