Foreigners' work: less pathology, but it may be more expensive
Almost 1.22 million foreigners are already working legally in Poland – ZUS data from the end of April indicate. This means that we have almost 80 thousand more foreign workers than a year earlier and almost nine times more than a decade ago in 2015. This is mainly due to Ukrainians, who constitute two thirds of foreigners in ZUS registers , but in recent years the number of workers from Asia and South America, especially from Colombia, has been growing rapidly. According to calculations by “Rzeczpospolita”, in April this year the six largest national groups on the Polish labor market – apart from Ukrainians (802 thousand), Belarusians (136.3 thousand) and Georgians (26 thousand) – were Indians (23.5 thousand), Colombians (16.6 thousand) and Filipinos (15.6 thousand).
