Doctors' phone numbers and emails were available online. Formally, the leak did not occur

Telephone numbers, e-mail addresses and correspondence addresses of doctors could be viewed in the new Register of Entities Performing Medical Activity (RPWDL 2.0), which fully replaced the previous version on June 29, 2025 - Rynek Zdrowia checked.

For journalistic purposes, we managed to download data on several doctors containing the information indicated above. As we learned, the previous version of the Register did not show phone numbers and e-mail addresses.

Many doctors have commented on the issue on social media, wondering whether there could have been an unprecedented disclosure of medical personnel's personal data.

The e-Health Centre emphasises, however, that there is no question of any data leak or violation of personal data protection regulations.

The data was entered in accordance with the provisions of the Act on Medical Activity. The RPWDL is public, and the telephone number and e-mail address are entered in the registry book of the doctor's professional practice. This data should be related to the performance of medical activity by the doctor-entrepreneur, within the framework of professional practice.

- The data contained in the Register come from applications submitted by people who make entries in the Register (e.g. doctors). Therefore, it is possible that the submitted application contained incorrect data - e.g. the doctor mistakenly entered his private number or the telephone, which was initially used for private and business purposes, over time became exclusively a private telephone - we hear from employees of the e-Health Centre.

Due to signals coming to CeZ, it was decided to temporarily block the view of email addresses and telephone numbers. People whose data is in RPWDL are advised to check whether the information provided in the application is still up to date. If not, it should be updated.

We know that signals reached CeZ from the Supreme Medical Council.

- In today's world, we need to be especially careful where we display data regarding the address or contact information of doctors. They can be used by anti-scientific groups and lead to dangerous situations - comments on the matter, NRL president Łukasz Jankowski.
