Child support rules to be changed. Signs disappeared after a week

- According to Confederation politicians, after the parents separate, alternating care should be the default form of childcare.
- - It's not about reducing parents to the role of ATMs, but about ensuring that they can actually take care of the child - said Dobromir Sośnierz
- He does not hide the fact that he counts on cooperation in the area of amending the alimony regulations with the new Minister of Justice, Waldemar Żurek.
The new Minister of Justice, Waldemar Żurek, agreed to withdraw the criticized child support tables, which were supposed to provide for specific amounts of child support that could be awarded for children of a certain age and at a certain level of income of the person obligated to pay them.
They were presented last week by former minister Adam Bodnar , immediately sparking a wave of criticism. Even though they were intended to serve courts and citizens only as a guide for calculating benefits.
The greatest outrage was caused among fathers and organizations defending their rights.
"Rzeczpospolita" reported that the Confederation is ready to cooperate on amending the regulations regarding shared care. It quoted statements on this matter from Confederation politician Dobromir Sośnierz, who stated that the presented tables were a distortion of the idea that the party's politicians themselves had advocated for.
"In principle, it's a good idea to limit the arbitrariness of courts, which can sometimes ruin people by ruling based on completely contrived criteria. On the one hand, I'm glad that the idea of these alimony tables has finally caught on, but their implementation is simply abysmal," the former MEP said during a specially convened conference.
He also emphasized that after parents separate, shared custody should be the default form of childcare. "The point isn't to reduce parents to cash machines, but rather to ensure that they can truly care for the child themselves," he emphasized.
Politicians declare cooperation. Lawyer: Those who resign from care should pay.Attorney Dariusz Szenkowski, who was present at the conference, pointed out that the child support table could be applied if child support was paid only by the parent who consciously resigned from caring for their child.
- Currently, too many divorce decisions end with custody being replaced by contact with the child and the awarding of child support from one of the parents - he said.
Sośnierz, in turn, made no secret of his hopes for cooperation with Minister Waldemar Żurek on alimony regulations. "We hope that now that the minister can not only talk about it but also do something about it, he will take action," he said, declaring cooperation.
