The Sejm passed an amendment that exempts entrepreneurs from the obligation to store paper social security declarations if they have already been sent electronically.
- The amendment to the Act on the Social Insurance System abolishes the obligation to store paper reports at the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS).
- The decision was unanimously supported by 429 MPs.
- The bill will now go to the Senate
The amendment is one of the deregulation proposals prepared by the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy. 429 MPs voted unanimously in favor of its adoption.
Currently, when submitting social security applications to the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) in the form of an electronic document, entrepreneurs must store the applications in written form, with the handwritten signature of the person being reported, for five years.
According to the ministry, this obligation is perceived by contribution payers as excessive, as insurance applications are already recorded in the system - both on the side of ZUS and the payer, which means there is no need for additional, separate archiving.
According to the adopted regulations, entrepreneurs will no longer be obliged to keep paper ZUS social security declarations.
The bill will now go to the Senate.
