There is an RCB alert. A low from the Balkans will bring heavy rainfall on Tuesday

On Tuesday, a low from the Balkans will move over Poland, bringing very heavy rainfall, IMGW forecaster Grażyna Dąbrowska told PAP. The institute issued level I, II and III alerts for the central and eastern parts of the country; the RCB also warns against heavy rains.
The weather forecaster explained that a low-pressure center will form, which will move through Poland on Tuesday, Tuesday night, Wednesday and in the following days. It is the presence of this low-pressure center that will cause heavy rainfall during these days.
Level III warnings for moderate to heavy rainfall will cover the Łódź and Silesian provinces, as well as the western edges of the Mazowieckie and Świętokrzyskie provinces, the west and south of the Małopolskie province, and the eastern part of the Opole province. The alert will be in effect from 8:00 pm on Tuesday, 8 July, to 8:00 am on Thursday, 10 July. Rainfall totals are forecasted to be from 80 mm to 100 mm, and in some places up to 140 mm. On the night of 8 to 9 July, rainfall of 25 mm to 50 mm is predicted, in some places up to 60 mm, on 9 July during the day – from 30 mm to 50 mm, and on the night of 9 to 10 July – from 10 mm to 30 mm.
Level II warnings - also for moderate and heavy rainfall - will cover the remaining parts of the Mazovian, Świętokrzyskie and Małopolskie provinces, the west of the Podlaskie, Lublin and Podkarpackie provinces, the centre of the Opole province and the south of the Lower Silesian and Warmian-Masurian provinces. Depending on the region, the alert will be in effect from 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 8, to 8 p.m. on Wednesday (July 9) or Thursday (July 10). The total rainfall is forecast to be from 60 mm to 90 mm, in some places up to 130 mm. On the night of 8 to 9 July, rainfall from 10 mm to 30 mm is predicted, in some places up to 45 mm, on 9 July during the day – from 15 mm to 30 mm, in some places up to 45 mm, on the night of 9 to 10 July – from 20 mm to 40 mm, and on 10 July during the day – from 20 mm to 50 mm.

First degree warnings for periods of moderate and heavy rainfall will apply to the remaining areas of the Warmian-Masurian, Podlaskie, Lublin, Podkarpackie provinces, south-eastern Kuyavian-Pomeranian and Wielkopolskie provinces, eastern Lower Silesia province and north-western Opole province. The alert will be in effect, depending on the region, from 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 8, to 8:00 a.m. or 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 10. Rainfall amounts of 40 mm to 60 mm are forecast, with up to 80 mm in some places. On the night of 8 to 9 July, rainfall from 15 mm to 25 mm is predicted, and during storms up to 40 mm, on 9 July during the day – in places from 10 mm to 20 mm, on the night of 9 to 10 July – from 15 mm to 35 mm, and during the day on 10 July – from 15 mm to 25 mm, and in places during storms up to 35 mm.
The Government Security Centre also issued an alert regarding heavy rainfall. People staying in the Dzierżoniów, Kłodzko and Ząbkowice counties (Lower Silesian Voivodeship) received an SMS on Monday with the following content: "Attention! 08/09.07 forecasted heavy, torrential rainfall. Possible flooding. Do not approach swollen rivers. Listen to the services' instructions."
Level II storm warnings will be in effect on Tuesday, July 8 from 12:00 to 20:00. They will cover the entire Silesian province, western Lesser Poland province, central and eastern Łódź province, and southwestern Mazovia province. The storms will be accompanied by very heavy rainfall - 30-40 mm, wind gusts up to 70 km/h and locally hail. In the remaining area of central Poland, a level I alert will be in effect on Tuesday afternoon. In places, the storms will be accompanied by heavy rainfall - 20-35 mm, wind gusts up to 65 km/h and locally - hail.
IMWM notes that warnings may continue.
Level I warning predicts conditions conducive to the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena that may cause material losses and threaten health and life. The Institute recommends caution and following messages about the development of the weather situation.
A second-degree warning predicts the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena causing significant material losses and a threat to health and life.
A third-degree warning predicts the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena causing very large damage or damage of catastrophic proportions and a threat to life. (PAP)
