President The Office of Personal Data Protection has decided to take up the case of a personal data protection violation ex officio - It was reported in a statement by the Office for Personal Data Protection. It concerns the disclosure on Tuesday by PiS MPs of the data of two people, including Jerzy Ż. - the man from whom Karol Nawrocki bought the apartment.

The politicians' speech concerned the clarification of issues related to Karol Nawrocki's estate - it concerned an apartment purchased from Jerzy Ż. As reported in the UODO press release, during the press conference, the Law and Justice MPs and Justice revealed such data as name, surname, address and telephone number PESEL. These were the data of two people.

"During the conference, MP Przemysław Czarnek showed publicly documents containing personal data. In connection with this, the President of the UODO decided to take up the matter of personal data protection violation ex officio" - it was reported in communication.

In a statement, the office indicated that this was not the first time data of people who do not perform functions appear in the media space public. The President of the UODO dealt with this matter ex officio, because "the scope of these data may cause adverse consequences for these individuals."

"I appreciate the media that stayed vigilant and did not further disseminate in their publications the personal data visible on photo and which covered them," said the president of the UODO, Mirosław Wróblewski.

As Wróblewski emphasized, "public figures should take care of it themselves ensure that personal data of persons who do not perform the function cannot be read public."

The Onet portal revealed on Monday that Nawrocki - a candidate for president supported by PiS - contrary to the declaration from the presidential debate in "Super Expressie”, is not the owner of one, but two apartments. Apart from the apartment in Gdańsk, where he lives with his family, also has a studio apartment. In 2017. the older man gave it to Nawrocki and his wife in exchange for care and maintenance; Jerzy Ż., however, ended up in a social welfare home.

On Wednesday, Nawrocki made a statement in Warsaw, in which he responded to the allegations made against him in connection with the case studio apartments. In his opinion, these are "media lies" and "the fight of state institutions Polish with one candidate for the office of the President of the Polish state". Therefore - as he informed, he decided to hand over the studio apartment purchased from Jerzy Ż. for charity. "Yesterday I made a decision together with my wife Marta, to donate this apartment to one of the charitable organizations charities that will continue to carry out the mission that I carried out towards Mr. Jerzy," Nawrocki stated. He added that in the donation agreement with charity organization that he is in contact with, there will be a record that Mr. Jerzy will be able to use the apartment until his death. (PAP)
