In Albania, Prime Minister Rama's party won the elections

The Socialist Party of Prime Minister Edi Rama won the largest number of votes in Sunday's parliamentary elections in Albania, around 52 percent, ensuring it will govern alone, according to exit polls published by the media after the polling stations closed.
Rama's socialists can count on 79 seats in Albania's 140-seat unicameral parliament, according to exit polls. In second place is the right-wing coalition Alliance for Greater Albania with 38 percent of the vote, or 54 seats in parliament.
Data from the Central Election Commission showed that by 5 p.m., just over 39 percent of the 3.7 million Albanians eligible to vote had taken part in the election.
The polling stations for the Albanian parliamentary elections (Kuvendi) closed at 7 p.m. The official results should be published within the next 48 hours. (PAP)
