A Polish tourist's vacation on the Portuguese island of Porto Santo, located in the Madeira archipelago, ended tragically. On Friday (September 12), the 55-year-old man went for a swim in the ocean but disappeared underwater. The 55-year-old's body was recovered from the water in the southeastern part of the island.

It said his body was recovered from the water in the southeastern part of the island, which is dominated by a rocky coastline. The AMN emphasized that there is no guarded swimming area there.
"According to our findings , the victim was walking with friends before his death , after which he went for a swim and eventually disappeared into the ocean," AMN reported.
On Friday, the Porto Santo Maritime Police Command launched an investigation into the circumstances of the tragic incident.
The island of Porto Santo is considered one of the greatest tourist attractions due to one of the longest sandy beaches in Portugal; it is 9 km long.
