Only four-year-old Oskar survived the tragic accident near Sierpc. He emerged from it almost unscathed. His parents died on the spot.
On Monday morning, February 24, it rained a little. There was fog. A moment before noon, on a straight section of national road no. 10 in the town of Stare Chabowo, a passenger car and a military truck collided.

In addition to the fact that the children were orphaned, the four-year-old was already severely affected by fate. The boy has been struggling with a serious and very rare disease since birth. It is an incurable genetic disease. Oskar requires constant and expensive rehabilitation.

The initial police findings were confirmed by prosecutor Bartosz Maliszewski from the District Prosecutor’s Office in Płock.
An inspection was carried out at the scene, documentation was prepared. The bodies were secured for an autopsy, which will take place soon. Five witnesses to the incident were questioned. The driver of the wax truck was sober. A blood sample was taken from him for further tests.

The preliminary cause of the accident was that for unknown reasons the Volkswagen driver drove into the opposite lane and collided with a truck.

He added that the autopsy of the victims could explain a lot, but it is worth considering that not everything will be determined. The prosecutor noted that the condition of the bodies could make it difficult, especially when we are talking about a serious car accident.
