The perpetrator of the fatal beating in Radymno will be examined by psychiatrists

As a reminder, the incident occurred on July 31st on Tysiąclecia Street in Radymno. A 58-year-old woman was attacked by a 36-year-old Radymno resident. The man beat the victim, rendering her unconscious. Despite first aid provided by police officers who arrived at the scene, monitoring her vital signs until the ambulance crew arrived, and transporting her to the hospital, the woman died. The attacker, who fled the scene, was apprehended by a passerby. He also managed to damage two cars.
Officers from the Radymno police station received a call regarding the same man on Thursday, July 31, before 2 p.m. The call came from his mother, who told police that her son had discontinued treatment, was aggressive, and posed a threat to her and others. Unfortunately, officers found only the reporting person at the couple's home.
"A woman reported that her 36-year-old son was aggressive and had left his residence in an unknown direction. While officers were investigating the circumstances of the report and determining the man's physical appearance, the officer on duty at the Jarosław police station received reports of two cars damaged and a woman assaulted in the Tysiąclecia Housing Estate in Radymno," reported Staff Sergeant Anna Długosz, press officer at the Jarosław County Police Headquarters.
During the course of their investigation, police officers checked the attacker's sobriety. He was not under the influence of alcohol. He was transported to the hospital by ambulance. A detailed examination of the scene was conducted, securing evidence and identifying witnesses.
Psychiatric experts will assess the man's sanityThe case is still under investigation by the prosecutor.
"Two charges have been filed: the first is causing grievous bodily harm resulting in death. This offense carries a penalty of no less than five years' imprisonment and even life imprisonment. The second offense, destroying two cars, will be treated as a hooligan offense," announced Agnieszka Kaczorowska, head of the District Prosecutor's Office in Jarosław.
"Psychiatric experts will be appointed to the case to assess whether the man was sane at the time of the incident, and his liability will depend on that," she added. He has been placed under preventive detention in a psychiatric hospital.
