The Polish military scrambled its fighter jets near the eastern border early Tuesday morning in connection with Russian attacks in Ukraine. The Operational Command of the Armed Forces (DORSZ) reported this on Platform X.

"Attention! Due to the activity of long-range aviation of the Russian Federation carrying out strikes on objects located, among others, in western Ukraine, military aviation has begun operating in Polish airspace," the press release reads.

It was emphasized that, in accordance with the applicable procedures , the Operational Commander of the RSZ activated all available forces and resources at his disposal, and the ground-based air defense and radar reconnaissance systems reached a state of readiness.

"The steps taken are aimed at ensuring security in areas bordering the threatened areas. The Operational Command of the RSZ is monitoring the current situation, and the subordinate forces and resources remain in full readiness for immediate reaction," it was assured.
