Elon Musk announced the formation of a new group called the America Party on Saturday. According to the Tesla CEO, the new party is needed to combat the party duopoly of Republicans and Democrats.

Musk's statement came a day after signing the "Big Beautiful Bill" - a budget bill that Elon Musk has openly opposed. He believes the bill will contribute to an increase in the deficit.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump said he felt “saddened” to watch Musk “derail.” The president also said the Tesla boss had become “basically a wreck” over the past five weeks.

In his conversation with reporters, Trump also referred to a possible agreement on the release of hostages by Hamas and a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip . According to him, there is a chance that such an agreement will be reached this week. On Monday, Trump is to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House.

The Axios portal, citing two US officials, reported that Trump wants to reach an agreement with Netanyahu on the terms of ending the war in the Gaza Strip.

The deal calls for a 60-day ceasefire that includes the release of 10 live Israeli hostages and the return of 18 dead bodies. Trump hopes it will be a step toward a broader agreement, although Netanyahu has so far refused to sign any treaty to end the war, Axios noted.
