JKS Jarosław will not play in the third league. They lost in Gorlice

To say that the Jarosław team lost this match at their own request would be a bit of an exaggeration. To say that they were better football-wise than their opponent is much closer to the truth, but that doesn't matter. You don't award goals for artistic impression. Bogdan Zając's team couldn't get used to the poor condition of the pitch at the OSiR stadium in Gorlice for a long time, where the ball performed real miracles, but that's also of lesser importance. The conditions for both teams were identical.

If we were to count the time of possession of the ball at the feet, it would definitely be on the side of the Jarosław team. What good is it when several basic elements of football craft were missing in such cases: accuracy, patience, change of pace of the game and the final pass. Possession of the ball absolutely did not translate into creating situations. The positional attack was too predictable for the combative opponent. The Jarosław team had too many weak links. Pawel Oziębło and Volodymyr Zastawnyj were not enough. Glinik played wisely, because after scoring the goal, when two lines of "support" of Maksym Guridov made a mistake, he focused on destruction. It was a good choice, because the monotony and lack of repetition on the part of JKS meant that Glinik's goalkeeper did not have to exert himself.

From the beginning of the second half, coach B. Zając made several changes to the line-up, deciding to play with three defenders. It was a bad choice. The big unlucky player in this match was Sebastian Kocój, who was introduced after the break, first headed the ball into his own goal for 2:0, and in the 85th minute received a red card. Wojciech Reiman, who had been missing in the last matches due to an injury, also appeared on the pitch. He appeared because there was no other option, but he was not fully fit. For over fifteen minutes (the referee from Ruda Śląska, Tomasz Kuroptawa, was very good at leading the match), the leader of JKS poured hope into the hearts of the fans, taking advantage of the penalty kick. Despite their ambition and willingness, the Jarosław team was unable to get anything more out of themselves. They attacked nervously and chaotically, which the rival cleverly took advantage of.

The final whistle brought great joy to the Gorlice team, because they knew perfectly well that they were not the better team. As a reward, they will play in the play-off final for promotion to the third league with Naprzód Jędrzejów.

Glinik Gorlice – JKS Jarosław 2:1 (1:0)
  • Goal: Reiman (81st – penalty).
