He offered 100 thousand zlotys for shooting Jerzy Owsiak. The 38-year-old faces 3 years in prison

Tomasz P., 38, will face trial for threatening Jerzy Owsiak with death on Facebook and offering PLN 100,000 to shoot him. The indictment in this case was filed with the District Court in Krosno. The man pleaded guilty. He faces up to three years in prison.
Tomasz P., a resident of Odrzykoń, has been accused of making criminal threats against Jerzy Owsiak on January 12 via the social networking site Facebook, to kill him by shooting him, the head of the District Prosecutor's Office in Krosno, prosecutor Zbigniew Piskozub, told PAP on Wednesday.
“These threats gave the injured party a justified fear that they would be carried out,” added the prosecutor.
Tomasz P. will also be held accountable for publicly inciting the crime of taking the life of Jerzy Owsiak by posting on his social media account: "100,000 PLN for killing Owsiak. Kill Owsiak. Shoot at you and Owsiak."
Both crimes are punishable by up to three years in prison.
The man admitted to committing the acts with which he was charged and provided an explanation.
As the prosecutor said, during the interrogation, P. said that he was agitated by negative comments about Jerzy Owsiak’s activities and this caused him to explode with anger.
"These entries were dictated by what I had read on the Internet about Jerzy Owsiak, what he had and what he drove, and that made me start writing on the Internet, calling for killing. Anger grew inside me," said Tomasz P.
He also admitted that he had had a drink, which may have caused him to become more aggressive.
The man has been in custody since his arrest. The defense has filed a complaint against the use of this preventive measure. (PAP)
