Do you like bikes? You will dream about this Skoda. It was created by students from the Czech Republic
Skoda has been involved in cycling races for years, including the most prestigious ones, such as the Tour de France, La Vuelta and Paris–Roubaix. The Czech brand's cars serve there as technical vehicles, carrying bicycles and service or media personnel, as well as supporting the event in every other aspect. For Skoda, this is excellent advertising - the cars are very visible in television reports and build the image of a manufacturer of practical cars for active people. Cycling emotions are accompanied by ordinary, serial models of Skodas, armed at most with accessory racks. However, if the car that is the hero of this article appeared at the start of one of the races, it could outshine the competitors. It must be admitted that it looks exceptionally attractive. It is the Skoda L&K 130. It was built to celebrate the 130th anniversary of the company, counted from 1895, when Václav Laurin and Václav Klement began producing bicycles. It was built by students - and this is not the first project of this type.

This is the tenth edition of the "Student Car" series, in which interns and students, in cooperation with teachers and specialists from Skoda, take on a model of the Czech company and... have a lot of fun. That is, a fully-fledged, well-made car is created, but when inventing and developing it, you can let your imagination run wild. In the past, for example, a Citigo cabrio or a camper with a workspace based on the Enyaq were created. Now, for the first time, the Superb has been modified, and in a plug-in hybrid version at that. A team of 28 students and engineers transformed the Combi into a car ideal for playing the role of a technical car at a cycling race, for carrying bicycles and equipment. The whole thing took over 2,000 man-hours, during which, among other things, the B and C pillars were redesigned, the rear part of the body behind the C pillars was removed and the structure was reinforced. The result is an open cargo space at the back - just right for muscle-powered two-wheelers. There are double sliding doors on the passenger side, with locking mechanisms and two handles. An electrically extendable platform with two bike rails is installed at the rear. Once inserted, the bikes are automatically set at a 35° angle, making it easier to close the hatch.
