Cyclist Philipsen successfully operated after fall in Tour

Cyclist Jasper Philipsen has undergone successful surgery for fractures he sustained in a fall during the third stage of the Tour de France. His team Alpecin-Deceuninck announced the news via X with a photo of the Belgian sprinter from his hospital bed.
Philipsen crashed hard in an incident during the intermediate sprint in the third stage, suffering multiple fractures. The 27-year-old Belgian underwent surgery on his collarbone and the AC joint, the connection between the collarbone and the top of the shoulder blade. The team thanks the doctors involved in Herentals and reports that rehabilitation is now starting.
Mathieu van der Poel's Belgian teammate had won the first stage and was the first wearer of the yellow jersey in this Tour. Van der Poel took over the yellow jersey with the victory in the second stage, which meant that Philipsen wore the green jersey in the third stage.
