Going on holiday within Europe? The weather can vary considerably. The temperature difference between the north and south of our continent is particularly large, and there's a chance of rain and thunderstorms in several places.
The heat is expected to increase in Spain. This week, it will be 35 degrees Celsius in Madrid, but that could rise to 40 degrees Celsius next week. Showers are still possible along the northern Spanish coast this week, but it will be mostly dry in the new week. The Portuguese coast will be mostly sunny.
The weather is more changeable in Italy. Rain is possible in the north and central regions on Thursday and especially Friday. After the weekend, the rain will subside, and there will be more sunshine . Later next week, temperatures will rise to 33 degrees Celsius across Italy. In Greece, showers will continue inland on Thursday, with a maximum temperature of 35 degrees Celsius. From next week onward, it will remain mainly dry.
In Sweden, Norway, and Denmark, it will be colder, around 20 degrees Celsius, and there will be heavy rainfall. This increases the risk of localized flooding. Finland will be unusually warm, with temperatures reaching 30 degrees Celsius on Thursday. The heat will be dispelled by rain and thunderstorms throughout the day.
Showers are expected in France on Thursday. A day later, heavy rain is expected in the northeast and around the Alps. Temperatures will then rise to 30 degrees Celsius, and it will be mostly dry from Sunday onwards. This will also apply to the north later in the week. Germany will remain wet this week, but the chance of drier and warmer weather increases next week.
