Original Hamilton Cast Performs at Tony Awards

The original cast of the American hit musical Hamilton will perform once again next month. In honor of the show's tenth anniversary, there will be a special performance during the Tony Awards ceremony on June 8, American media report.
More than 25 cast members, including Lin-Manuel Miranda, Leslie Odom Jr., Phillipa Soo, Daveed Diggs, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Christopher Jackson, Jonathan Groff and Ariana DeBose, are joining the performance. It has not yet been announced which song they will perform. The announcement follows the news that Odom will reprise his old role as Aaron Burr for a 12-week run on Broadway in New York this fall.
Hamilton tells the life story of the American 'founding father' Alexander Hamilton and was an instant success. He was the first Secretary of the Treasury of the US and helped write the country's constitution. Composer and creator Lin-Manuel Miranda decided to use rap and hip-hop music to adapt his story and the history of America's creation into a musical.
A recording of the show has also been available on Disney+ for a few years now. In the Netherlands, Stage Entertainment has the rights, but it is not yet known if and when the show will be available here.
