Latest version of ChatGPT 'feels less hallucinations'

The latest version of ChatGPT, GPT-5, has been available since yesterday. According to OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, it now has 700 million weekly users.
Getting smarterAccording to CEO Sam Altman, the new version is "a significant improvement" over the previous version. "It's like having a team of experts with PhDs at your disposal for everything you need to know."
He compared ChatGPT-3 to a “high school student,” and called version 4 a “university student.”
ChatGPT-5 still can't completely take over a human's workload, says Altman. He believes artificial intelligence (AI) doesn't yet have the necessary self-learning capabilities.
Because the latest version was only launched yesterday, it's not yet possible to verify whether the chatbot actually experiences fewer hallucinations. The layout remains the same, the BBC reports. But whether Altman's claims are true and ChatGPT is truly smarter remains to be seen in the coming days, the broadcaster writes.
ChatGPT launched about three years ago. The texts ChatGPT generates are often difficult to distinguish from human work, which is why the service quickly became incredibly popular.
