D66 wins! What now?

For this special Dagkoers episode about the 2025 parliamentary elections, the FD visited a polling station in the Zuidas business district. We also followed the exit polls, attended the election results evenings for the various political parties, and previewed a potential coalition.
Based on the latest polls, the election battle seemed to be between the PVV, GroenLinks-PvdA, and D66, closely followed by the VVD and CDA. The exit polls painted a different picture: D66 appears to be winning, with the PVV in second place and the VVD settling in third. The CDA and JA21 are also among the winners.
The big losers are GroenLinks-PvdA, with the resignation of Frans Timmermans as a result, and the former governing party NSC, which appears to have no seats left.
We discuss these major shifts with The Hague reporter Cor de Horde. Why did Timmermans resign, who will become prime minister, and what could the next coalition look like?
