Yucatán reaches the semifinals of the National Women's Baseball Championship in Mérida

Keirhy García, Daniela Díaz, and Aylín Peregrino were a nightmare for Yucatán's pitching in the semifinals of the Mexican Baseball Federation's U-15 Women's National Championship, leading Mexico City to a 16-8 victory on field 7.
García, with three singles and a grand slam; Díaz, with four singles; and Peregrino, with two doubles and a single, combined to send Mexico City to this Saturday's final. Maryel Cortez stood out for Yucatán with three hits and six RBIs.
Yucatán started off winning with a two-run homer by María José Tadeo. In the second inning, they increased their lead with a one-run single by Maryel Cortez.
However, the capital team came alive in the bottom of the third inning with a three-run rally, in which Peregrino drove in two and García drove in one.

The Yucatecans responded immediately in the opening of the fourth inning with a two-run single by Cortez.
But everything fell apart for Yucatán when starter Hilary Ricardez had to leave the game after reaching the pitch limit with the score tied at five.
The capital team took advantage of the outing and mounted a devastating eight-run attack in the bottom of the fifth inning. Peregrino, with two doubles, García, with a single, and Díaz, with a pair of hits, led the attack.
On field 2, Artleth Cuadra, Renee Murillo, and Yulein del Valle were in charge of leading Baja California to the final, which knocked out Puebla in six innings, with a score of 17-7.
Mexico City and Baja California will compete in the final at 8:00 a.m. on Course 2, while Puebla and Yucatán will face off for third place, also at the same time.
