Rookie Trey Yesavage set a Blue Jays postseason record by striking out 11 in 5 1/3 hitless innings, Dominican-Canadian Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hit the first playoff grand slam in team history and Toronto beat the New York Yankees 13-7 to take a 2-0 lead in the Major League Baseball Division Series.

Daulton Varsho hit two home runs among his four extra-base hits; Ernie Clement and George Springer also homered, as Toronto reached double figures in hits (15) and runs for the second consecutive game. The homers hit three home runs, two by Mexican Alejandro Kirk.
